Familylinks Uses Technology to Maintain Essential Client Services
Staff works remotely to provide therapy, counseling and family support programs

Pittsburgh, PA, March 25, 2020 … Familylinks reported today that the agency is using tele-medicine, Zoom and
video conferencing to deliver regularly scheduled services to the children, adults and seniors who turn to
Familylinks for a variety of support programs. Familylinks is one of several local nonprofit agencies that have
been designated as “life sustaining” by the Governor’s directive.

Don Goughler, Interim President and CEO of Familylinks, commented, “ In addition to our direct service delivery
through today’s technology, we are answering calls to our various sites and our information line as normal, and
we are able to accommodate referrals. And of course, we continue to provide for the most vulnerable in this
region who are cared for in our residential facilities. Our dedicated staff is proactive in their efforts to maintain
as much consistency as possible for those who depend on Familylinks, and to reduce the concern and anxiety we
know they are feeling at this time.”

He continued, “At Familylinks, our priority remains the health and safety of our clients and our team, and we
continue to take measures to protect against the spread of the COVID-19. We have made the necessary
modifications to our programs and services, in accordance with guidelines set by local and state government, so
we can continue to serve individuals and families in western Pennsylvania.”
