Familylinks Marks National Direct Support Professional Week
Direct care workers recognized for extraordinary service during COVID-19
Familylinks announced today that the agency is celebrating Direct Support Professional Week, September 13-19, by honoring the dedicated members of our direct care staff for their exceptional service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their daily commitment to our many consumers stands as an example of the sense of duty they share with first responders, health professionals, and other essential workers in the service sector of our community.
Stacey Vaccaro, president and CEO of Familylinks, commented, “We are so proud of the direct care team at Familylinks. Each and every day, they continued to provide 24/7 essential support for those in our care including at-risk youth in our residential facilities, individuals of all ages with disabilities, and women seeking to regain control of their lives following substance use.”
Rebecca Haberstroh, Interim Chief Operating Officer, noted, “We consider every member of our direct care team to be an MVP in 2020. They have maintained continuity of care and stability for individuals who have often experienced trauma, homelessness or depression. We honor their service this special week, but also recognize their commitment every day.”
