At Familylinks, our priority remains the health and safety of our clients and our team, and we continue to take measures to protect against the spread of the COVID-19. Last week we made the decision to cancel all events and suspend volunteer activities until further notice. This week we have made the necessary modifications to our programs and services, in accordance with guidelines set by local and state government, so we can continue to serve individuals and families in western Pennsylvania.

As public health officials assess the risk, we are closely monitoring the spread of the virus and evaluating potential implications. We will continue to share all updates on our website and social media pages.

Five Pittsburgh Professionals Join Familylinks’ Board of Directors
Pittsburgh, PA (February 25) – Familylinks announces the appointment of five new members to its Board of
Directors. Joining the Board of Directors are Ryan M. Bloser, Joan Levenson Bruni, Rev. Dr. LaWana L. Butler, Erin
M. Ickes and Louise Cavanaugh Sciannameo.

“We are pleased to add five new members to the Board of Directors,” said Tony Matteo, Chair of Familylinks’
Board of Directors. “These individuals bring expertise, passion and energy to the table. We are fortunate to have
them by our side as we continue to strengthen the community through Familylinks array of family-centered
services.”

Ryan M. Bloser earned a BS in Business Administration from Duquesne University before beginning his career at
UPMC. He is currently the Director of Finance for UPMC Health Services Division at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside.
Ryan lives in Ford City where he recently opened a restaurant, Ryan’s Creek House. When he’s not working, Ryan
enjoys boating and spending time with his girlfriend, Lindsay, and their new puppy, Lilly Bean.

Joan Levenson Bruni is a licensed psychologist in private practice. She specializes in working with young adults
struggling with depression, anxiety and career-related issues. She completed her undergraduate degree at Brown
University, and received her JD and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. Joan lives in Bethel Park with her
husband, Jack, and son, Michael. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, gardening and being a basketball
mom.

Rev. Dr. LaWana L. Butler, Ph.D., MSCP, MBA, along with her husband, are the owners of Heuer House, a
nonprofit recovery house where they provide housing, education, workforce development and other services to
those recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. LaWana is a recent graduate of Point Park University doctoral
program in Philosophy/Community Engagement. She also holds a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from
Chatham University, a master’s degree in Business Administration, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from
Point Park University. LaWana lives in Crafton with her husband and enjoys water aerobics, spin class, reading and
spending time with her grandchildren.

Erin M. Ickes is a Stewartsville, New Jersey native who moved to western Pennsylvania to obtain her BA from
Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her JD from the University of Pittsburgh. She is presently the Senior Vice
President & Corporate Counsel at ServiceLink NLS, LLC where she serves as in-house counsel. Erin is a long-time
volunteer at Familylinks who lives in Brighton Heights with her husband Mike and their three dogs.

Louise Cavanaugh Sciannameo is a Dallas, Texas native who obtained her BA from John Carroll University and her
MA from Chatham University. As Assistant Provost for Strategic Communications, Louise leads the communication
efforts for the Office of the Provost at the University of Pittsburgh. Louise lives in Squirrel Hill with her family and
enjoys travel, painting and long walks with her dog.
