FAMILYLINKS NAMES JAMES NEEDLES CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
Pittsburgh, PA (January 6) – Familylinks announced the appointment of James Needles to the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO). With extensive information technology experience spanning over 35+ years, Needles brings valuable leadership to Familylinks’ executive team. As CIO, Needles will provide overall strategic leadership of information technology, data management and data security, as well as offer a hands-on approach to collaborative problem solving related to technology needs. He will ensure that Familylinks is well positioned from a technology lens to best meet the needs of staff and the individuals served by Familylinks.

Prior to joining Familylinks, Needles was the Vice President of Business Information Systems at the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh. There, he modernized the business technology systems and implemented new systems and processes to ensure efficiency and produce improved outcomes. Prior to his fourteen-year tenure at the YMCA, Needles served in various leadership and technology roles with organizations like KTA Tator, Fisher Scientific and Daimler Benz, as well as some entrepreneurial ventures.

Needles earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
In his free time, Needles enjoys endurance sports like cycling and running, volunteering leading group exercise classes to transform the lifestyles of others, and he is very active in his church.
